Many things have happened in past couple months. Everyone can remember the storm that blew out the lights in Pacific Northwest for quite some time. It was December 14th 2006 Thursday, actually we had prior warning about the storm and in reality it happened and we lost electricity since mid Thursday, sooner we realized the implications in terms of no heat in the house, too dark and too cold weather nothing hot to eat and as the night came closer the stronger winds were scary due to lots of trees in the yard and branches were falling like anything. We were out of electricity for almost 6 days.
Next day morning nowhere to go as most of the people were in dark, we tried coal burning technique and since it gave heat we decided to hold on to that for night. The outcome was we got carbon monoxide poisoning and were taken to hospital via 911 call and were inhaling oxygen for almost four hours. We were discharged around 4 in the morning and both came home alone in a taxi.
This event triggered different thinking regarding uncertainties in life. The fight to live and stay alive, what if we wouldn’t have woken up! Saw many such news and death reports in the news paper the next day happened due carbon monoxide poisoning. I guess our time had not come!!!!
It was indeed a close call!! Day worth remembering!
